Father's Day

We had a great Father's Day today. Briley and I got up early and gave daddy his present and then we left to go to church. It was an awesome service...
After church we went to the In Laws house to celebrate with my father in law. My MIL, who is an amazing cook made shrimp, steak and lobster and Oh my, it was so good!

To the Man I love....

It has been almost 20 years since I met Nathan.... In sixth grade... he had just moved to California from Texas and he was the talk of the school.... All the girls saying "Have you seen that new BOY!?!?" "He is sooooooooo cute" "Have you heard his Texas Accent???" And yes I had seen him. And yes, I was young, but I knew form that moment I would marry that Boy. From the SECOND our eyes met we both knew that we had something very unique. A lot of people don't believe in Soul Mates.... Boy, I do.

Our first date was to the Movies. Of course we were 11 years old. His mom drove us to see Robin Hood Prince of Thieves. He tried to hold my hand at the movie but was afraid his mom and brother would see so he quit :) The first time he kissed me was after the School Fair by the Drinking Fountain on the playground at Montevideo Elementary School. It was just an innocent peck on the cheek but I about fell over. I melted and I went home and told my mom that night "I will marry that boy someday" She just laughed and rolled her eyes. I am sure she thought I had lost my marbles....

At the end of 6th grade he moved back to Texas and I stayed in California. The day he left he promised me he would be back to take me to my senior prom....

We wrote (me more than him) We called and ran up huge phone bills and we both attempted to date other people over the years. It never worked. I compared everyone to him and he did he same....Every Valentines Day I would receive a gift and a phone call saying "You're Still my Valentine" (I found out later that he lost many a date on Valentines Day because they found out he called me before them).

The Summer between our Junior and Senior year in High school I went to visit Nathan in TX for 10 days. The moment I walked off the plane, that same small brown-eyed boy, who was now 6'3", kissed me and to this day, I still melt when I see him. That year. He flew out and surprised and took me to my senior prom.

He is now the father of my two precious girls.

We have weathered more serious, complicated, stressful situations in our time together than most people do in a lifetime. Each Day, as a Husband and as a Father I love him more and more. It only continues to grow and he only becomes more important to me.

I cannot imagine life without him. Everyday he busts his rear to give us a better life. He works two jobs to help us stay afloat after we accumulated huge medical bills last year and I then lost my job... He never complains. He will not let us fail. He always lends a hand around the house and helps me keep things neat and tidy. He gets up with the girls so I can sleep in and he cooks and cleans..... I could not ask for anything more.

Nathan, You mean everything to me. I hope you know that I love you more with each and everyday. I couldn't make it without you in my life. I appreciate you and respect you and everything you do. I support you 100% and want you to know that 20 years ago I dreamed of marrying you. My dream has come true and it's all I hoped it would be.

HAPPY FATHERS DAY.

Show Us Where you Live Friday - PLAYROOM!

We have a Playroom. It used to be an office/Guest Loft, but we decided, in order to keep our sanity, a room dedicated only to TOYS was a great Idea. Most of you know I am a bit OCD and clutter really gets me. The playroom is a place where all toys look cute, even when cluttered and were the MESS stays! I LOVE IT! I am currently looking for ideas for something to decorate over the couch.... if you have any ideas, let me know!!! My thought is, that as the girls grow, this room will eventually grow with them, becoming a study area with a double desk.... Enjoy!

Show Us Where you Live Friday - Bathrooms...

This is the girls' bathroom.... When I was Pregnant with Kayelyn, my mom and sister and grandparents splurged on this bathroom decor from Pottery Barn Kids and I love it!!!

Here is their Hairbow Holder.... It's pretty full!

Here are their towels!

Next is the Master Bath.... nothing fancy but fun nonetheless....

This is our garden tub...

Looking into our bathroom from the Bedroom...

I made this years ago with an old piece of wood and some drawer pulls... I use it to hold my necklaces....

Shower...

Another angle of the garden tub....

His and hers Towels

When we painted this bathroom we took down the HUGE standard mirror that most bathrooms have and replaced them with these... I found them at Hobby Lobby for half off.... We also put in the glass shelves to add more space since this bathroom is tiny....

This is our Powder room... My mom and I used the slate gray to make a faux finish on the walls....

Gardening and Hide and Seek....

I am really enjoying watching everything that we planted from seed start to grow... IT amazes me..... My sunflowers are starting to all bloom..... They are fabulous. Sunflowers make me so happy. They are perfect and gorgeous..... I have fake sunflowers all over my house.... really there is nothing better than having my own garden full of them....

I am learning a lot about sunflowers... When they first bloom they look a lot like a daisy..... then everyday they open more and more. This the same bloom I posted the other day.... It looks totally different than it did on day one....

They blooms last a long time. These are mammoth sunflowers and can get to be up to 10 feet tall with 12-16 inch blooms. I cannot wait....

I also have ears of corn growing!!! They are about 5 inches long right now!

Here are the jalapenos.....

Aloe Vera....

Now this is my beloved lemon tree. Hurricane Ike plucked this thing out of the ground and literally threw it across the yard. We planted it where it landed (thinking maybe it picked that spot ;) ) and I have to say it's doing well.... we have tons of baby lemons!

Rosemary....

I Love my garden!

Today Briley picked these "because she loves me" and I put them in water... so sweet...

After Dinner Briley wanted to play Hide and Seek.... so.... She first started by hiding behind this plate.... I told her she would have to do better than that.

So next she moved to the pantry..... So cute.... Not obvious or anything :)

After I found her....

Next place she picked was our bed..... Can you find Briley???

My two precious angels after dinner.... They LOVE to play together. Briley runs around Kayelyn in the high chair and Kayelyn just cracks up! These two grow closer and closer everyday. Its a joy to watch them together... I am baffled the we managed to make two of the most gorgeous kids I have ever seen... and SMART! Wow... they are smart..... We are so Blessed.....
